Application & Admission
Applicants are required to possess (or being in the process of finalisation of) a university degree of at least 10 semesters in law. The applications of candidates with degrees in other disciplines (social sciences, philosophy, etc.) will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
The number of students admitted to enrol is limited to 35. Selection of candidates will be made based on the criteria specified below.
The tuition fees amount to 4.820 EUR, including official stamps (16 EUR) and state taxes for university enrolment (189 EUR). The organising committee has made an agreement with a guesthouse on the basis of which our students will get reduced prices for meals and individual rooms for the whole period of the residential session in Imperia-Porto Maurizio.
Fifteen scholarships will be awarded altogether to the competing candidates. The Universities of Genoa and Girona offer five scholarships, which consist in the complete exemption from the tuition fees (for a total amount of 4.520 EUR). Another five scholarships offered by the University of Genoa consist in the exemption from tuition fees for an amount of 2.000 EUR. The last five scholarships offered by the University of Genoa consist in the exemption from tuition fees for an amount of 1.000 EUR.
How to Apply?

Don’t wait until the last day! Filling the on-line application form with all the necessary information will take you some time. You should check this step-by-step Guide in English to see what to expect.
Documents to attach in PDF to your on-line application:
1. a copy of your identity card or passport
2. curriculum vitae et studiorum (CV)
(Please indicate the level of your language skills in your CV. Reading comprehension in English and Spanish, as well as oral and written communication in at least one of the official languages of the program—English, Spanish or Italian—is indispensable.)
3. a self-certification of your academic transcripts (that is, a list of all the subjects of your university degree and the grades obtained thereof)
4. a copy of the original university diploma
+ in case of a degree obtained outside of Italy, and not yet officially declared as equivalent to Italian graduate degrees, add a proof (or a self-certification) that the procedure has been started for obtaining a declaration of worth of your diploma (Such a declaration—in Italian: “dichiarazione di valore”—shall be solicited at and made by a competent Italian diplomatic or consular representation for the country where the studies were carried out.)
5. a self-certification concerning the veracity of the statements and the authenticity of the documents attached to the application (Download the form of such a self-certification in PDF or DOC which is also accessible from the web page of the on-line application procedure. Such a form shall first be printed, filled and signed by the applicant, and then scanned and attached again in a PDF format.)
6. up to two letters of recommendation [NOTE FOR ON-LINE APPLICATION: upload them as “Further Title”!]
7. for the candidates applying for the bursary: a research project on one of the subjects connected to the masters program, written either in English, Spanish, French or Italian. The text shall not exceed 8.000 characters (including spaces, footnotes and bibliography). [NOTE FOR ON-LINE APPLICATION: upload them as “Further Title”!]
All documents attached to your application need to be uploaded in PDF, except the project in .DOC (and take less than 2 Megabytes of memory per document, otherwise you won’t be able to upload them).

Admissions Criteria & Deadlines for Enrolment
The Admissions Committee—which will evaluate the applications for admission and for scholarships—will assign to every application up to 100 points according to the following criteria: up to a max. of 20 points for evaluation of a candidate’s university degree and CV; up to a max. of 5 points for evaluation of each of the two letters of recommendation; and up to a max. of 70 points for evaluation of the research project (the latter will be considered only for the purposes of offering the scholarships). Of these 70 points, up to 40 points can be given for the relevance and the originality; up to 20 points for the structure and the mode of presentation; whereas a max. of 10 points can be given for the bibliography.
Those who can afford the costs of this programme on their own are kindly encouraged not to apply for the scholarships.
Announcements of evaluations of the candidates
I. Candidates for scholarships
The publication of the corresponding rankings will follow this schedule:
1. The first ranking of the candidates, regarding the winners of the five full scholarships, will be published by 12 May 2018.
Confirmation of their acceptation must be communicated, without exception, before 17 May 2018 (12:00 Italian Time).
2. The second ranking of the candidates, regarding the winners of the five partial scholarships – exemption from tuition fees for an amount of 2.000 EUR, will be published by 21st May 2018.
Confirmation of their acceptation must be communicated, without exception, before 25 May 2018 (12:00 Italian Time).
3. The third ranking of the candidates, regarding the winners of the five partial scholarships – exemption from tuition fees for an amount of 1.000 EUR, will be published by 28 May 2018.
Confirmation of their acceptation must be communicated, without exception, before 5 June 2018 (12:00 Italian Time).
II. Candidates in general
The publication of the final general ranking, corresponding to all admitted students (including scholarship winners and others), will be published by 8 June 2018.
In the case of equal rankings between the candidates for enrolment, priority will be given to the younger one. In the case of equal rankings between candidates for scholarships, priority will be given to the one with a less favourable economic situation.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Missing the deadlines implies losing the scholarships and the possibility to participate in the Master.

Enrolment to the Master’s Programme
I. Candidates with a scholarship
1. Candidates with a full scholarship
These candidates must start the enrolment before 16 June 2018. This involves signing the educational contract proposed by the University of Genoa and making an on-line payment of administration fees of 300,00 EUR.
2. Candidates with a partial scholarship – exemption from tuition fees for an amount of 2.000 EUR
These candidates must start the enrolment before 25 June 2018. This involves signing the educational contract proposed by the University of Genoa and making an on-line payment of administration fees of 1.320 EUR (corresponding to the first payment).
The second and third payments are due on: 25 July 2018 (750 EUR) and 1st October 2018 (750 EUR).
It is also possible to make only unitary payment, amounting to 2.820 EUR, by 25 June 2018.
3. Candidates with a partial scholarship – exemption from tuition fees for an amount of 1.000 EUR
These candidates must start the enrolment before 25 June 2018. This involves signing the educational contract proposed by the University of Genoa and making an on-line payment of administration fees of 2.320 EUR (corresponding to the first payment).
The second and third payments are due on: 25 July 2018 (750 EUR) and 1st October 2018 (750 EUR).
It is also possible to make an unitary payment, amounting to 3.820 EUR, by 25 June 2018.
II. Candidates without a scholarship
These candidates must start the enrolment before 25 June 2018. This involves signing the educational contract proposed by the University of Genoa and making an on-line payment of administration fees of 2.320 EUR (corresponding to the first payment).
The second and third payments are due on: 25 July 2018 (1.250 EUR) and 1st October 2018 (1.250 EUR).
It is also possible to make a unitary payment, amounting to 4.820 EUR, on 25 June 2018.
