::Jobs:: The University of Turin invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher (“assegnista di ricerca”) in the field of logic and philosophy of science. The position is for a period of 18 months (12 + default extension of 6). The successful candidate will work in the PRIN project Logic and Cognition: Theory, Experiments, and Applications. The default starting date is 1 May 2021, but starting sooner or later can be mutually agreed. The deadline for applications will be 22 February 2021 at 13:00 Central European Time. Interviews will presumably be held on 18 March (via Skype), and information about the outcome will be sent as soon as possible afterwards.For further information on the position, please contact Prof. Vincenzo Crupi, at vincenzo.crupi@unito.it. :: Events :: Venerdì 22 gennaio alle ore 15, si terrà, presso l’Università degli Studi di Genova, nella piattaforma teams, la discussione della tesi di dottorato di Alessandro Senaldi, dal titolo Il “campo giuridico” tra diritto e politica. Il caso del TAV/TAC in Val di Susa. La commissione di esame sarà composta dal prof. Adalgiso Amendola, Università di Salerno; prof. The seminars start on 21/01 with a seminar from Frederick Schauer: “Statistical Evidence and the Problem of Specification”. ::Events:: A Zoom webinar on the topic Positivism and International law will be held on 25 January from 15:00 to 18:00 (CET). The webinar is designed to provide for the opportunity for a conversation. :: Events :: Il Dipartimento di Scienze Giuridiche “Cesare Beccaria” dell’Università degli Studi di Milano e da Politeia, in occasione della pubblicazione del volume  di Massimo La Torre, Il diritto contro se stesso (Olschki, 2020) invita al Webseminar sul tema “Il diritto contro se stesso”. ::Jobs:: The Faculty of Law at Uppsala University, Sweden, announces a vacancy for a doctoral student position in jurisprudence. The main area of research is ethical, logical, epistemological and ontological analyses of theories and concepts which are common to different jurisprudential disciplines. ::Calls:: An international conference ‘Rule of Law Beyond the Nation-State’ will be held in Belgrade from May 14 to May 15, 2021. The goal of the conference is to provide further elucidation and evaluation of the process of appropriation of the Rule of Law principle in various contexts beyond the nation-state. All those interested in participating must submit an abstract (up to 500 words long) by April 10 to the email: zdr.anna@gmail.com Selected participants will be informed by April 25. :: Calls :: The annual Legal Philosophy Workshop (LPW) invites you to participate in the 8th LPW headed online over 3 weeks in June and July 2021. LPW is an annual pre-read workshop designed to foster reflection on the nature of law and the philosophical issues underlying its different areas. The aim is to promote work that connects legal philosophy with other branches of philosophy (e.g., moral and political philosophy, metaphysics, philosophy of language, epistemology, or philosophy of action) and to create a venue for the critical examination of different viewpoints about law.
