:: Jobs :: At King’s College London, they are looking to appoint one Lecturer in any area of jurisprudence or the philosophy of law, but with a preference given to those whose work focuses on the philosophical foundations of law and/or politics. The successful candidate will join the faculty of The Dickson Poon School of Law.

dickson poonThe successful candidate will undertake world leading research, education and public engagement activities in the School, and will take a significant role in the teaching and administration of undergraduate, postgraduate and postgraduate research programmes. Other things being equal, preference may be given to a candidate with research interests in theory of private law, feminist approaches to law, or the history of legal and political philosophy. The School has particular undergraduate teaching needs at present in the field of the PPL programme. A willingness and competence to contribute to other areas of teaching (e.g. Tort or Trusts) should the need arise would be welcome. The successful candidate will also carry out administrative and academic leadership duties in the Yeoh Tiong Lay Centre for Politics Philosophy and Law and in other such areas as the Dean may require.

Details:
The successful candidate for this post will have outstanding specialist knowledge in jurisprudence and the philosophy of law and excellent teaching skills. He or she will be expected to make a contribution to the development of the School and College’s research profile including by developing a track record of high-level publications in his or her field of study, through participation in impact activities, and by active participation in research communities. The successful candidate will also be expected to make a strong contribution to the development and delivery of teaching in the School, in particular in respect of the core undergraduate curriculum on our LLB programmes, and, over time, contributing to teaching leadership in at least one core undergraduate module.

Post duration:
Indefinite contract.

Salary:
The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualifications and experience, within the Grade 7 scale, currently £39,685 to £47,328 per annum, plus £2,323 London Allowance per annum.
