:: Calls :: The Network of Analytic Philosophy and Social Critique invites applications for its first workshop on publication, which will be held on March 11-12, 2016 at the University of Sheffield. Applications deadline: Dec. 17, 2015.

The publication of papers in peer-reviewed journals is a key step for a career in academia. However, often it is not part of an education in philosophy to get to know how to do it. Rather, it is “learning by doing.” The Network of Analytic Philosophy and Social Critique wants to provide an opportunity to get to know about publication, to learn by getting help, and to have experts discuss questions about publication with us. And how better to do this, then with a discussion of a draft that is written for future publication. We invite interested researchers with papers planned for publication to register for the workshop. The papers should be written in an analytic style and broadly concern topics of social critique. The workshop especially addresses PhD-students and early-career philosophers. It is part of a series of conferences and workshops organised by the Network of Analytic Philosophy and Social Critique.
Our confirmed experts are: Jennifer Saul (Sheffield University) and Robert Stern (Sheffield University)
Call for applications
Please provide your full name, your university affiliation, and a 300-500 word abstract of your paper. As the workshop is about publication, we hope to reach especially PhD-students and early-career philosophers. Please also indicate if you prefer one of the two experts for a discussion of your paper.
We will confirm your registration via e-mail. If you wish to attend you need to have your draft ready by January 2016. The workshop will be “read-ahead.” Papers will be made available in January to participants who have registered. If you wish to participate in the workshop you need to register and read the papers in advance.
