:: Jobs :: The Department of Philosophy and the Centre for the Study of Social Action (CSSA) at the University of Milan announce the opening of a post-doctoral position on Acting Together: Coordination, Collective Goal, and Cooperation.  The project spans formal and experimental methods, with particular emphasis on minimalist approaches to coordination, shared agency, and cooperation. Deadline for applications: April 26.

Applicants are expected to have a strong inclination for interdisciplinary work and the potential for excellence in research and publications. There are no restrictions on the applicants’ Phd background, provided it’s relevant to the topic of the project.  The appointment will be made initially for two years and it will be renewed for another two years subject to funding. After tax salary will be in the region of 20.000 euro per year.

The postdoctoral fellow will be a member of the Center for the Study of Social Action (http://www.cssa.unimi.it) and will participate in the wider research community of the Department of Philosophy, the second largest in the country.  While the postdoctoral fellow will pursue sound philosophical research, the project is ideally suited to interdisciplinary collaboration with cognitive scientists, economists and mathematical and computational logicians.

The deadline for application is April 26th 2016. Applicants are required to enclose a research proposal referred to the topic of project, a CV, the PhD thesis or the abstract (also in draft, if the thesis has not been discussed by the call for application deadline), publications and any other qualification which can be useful to prove their scientific production as well as their aptitude to research activity.

The Convenors refer potential applicants to the official call for application available at http://www.unimi.it/cataloghi/ass_collaborazione_ricerca/BANDO_tipo_A_2014eng_def_per_sito.pdf.
