The JDG Call for presenters 2015-16
The Jurisprudence Discussion Group (JDG) is an informal and lively forum for discussing original work in the philosophy of law, based in the Faculty of Law at the University of Oxford. Attendants are primarily research students from the faculty in addition to faculty members and graduate students from cognate disciplines. More information can be found at www.oxford-jdg.net.
If you would like to present a paper in the 2015/16 academic year, in any area of legal philosophy, please send an abstract of no more than 500 words, together with biographical details, to the JDG Convenors at oxfordjdg@gmail.com. JDG meetings are held weekly on Thursday afternoons during term time. The organizers have set aside two weeks of both Hilary and Trinity terms for submitted papers. Please specify the Thursdays of each term on which you would be able to present. Information on Oxford term dates are available at http://www.ox.ac.uk/about/facts-and-figures/dates-of-term.
Successful applicants will be asked to send a draft paper one week in advance of the meeting for circulation among members of the JDG. Meetings usually last an hour and a half, and presentations should be kept to around 30 minutes to allow plenty of time for questions and discussion. Unfortunately, the organisers will not normally be able to make any contribution towards travel expenses.
