Tenure Track Appointments
The Faculty of Law invites applications for five tenure track appointments, anticipated to be at the Assistant Professor level. The starting date is July 1, 2017 or such other date as is negotiated with the successful candidate.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The Faculty welcomes applications from outstanding scholars of diverse perspectives and will consider an appointment in any field of expertise, although our current teaching priorities are in the areas of: (1) administrative law (including an interest in comparative administrative law); (2) civil law (including an interest in contracts and tort law); (3) corporate/commercial (including an interest in complementary private law fields); (4) empirical legal research (including an interest in complementary private law fields); and (5) legal theory. Applicants will have a strong academic record and will have, or will be completing, a Ph.D. in law or a related discipline. They will have a record of, or demonstrated potential for, excellence in teaching and research.
ABOUT THE FACULTY OF LAW: Founded in 1980, ITAM’s Faculty of Law is a collegial community with a deep commitment to its 500 students. We pride ourselves on having one of the most prestigious law faculties in the Spanish-speaking world. All faculty members contribute to, and are committed to, sustaining the core curriculum, which includes compulsory courses in all four years, as well as a diverse research agenda.
ITAM is located in an attractive colonial setting in Mexico City. The offices of the law school look out over the valley of Mexico and the colonial neighborhood of San Angel. Faculty and students support a variety of causes and activities enhancing the civic life of the school and community, including a Center for Access to Justice, an active faculty seminar series with speakers from around the world, two law journals, and a strong clinical education offering.
