:: Calls :: McMaster University’s Philosophy Department is pleased to announce this year’s installment of the Ontario Legal Philosophy Partnership Graduate Student Conference, in June 16-17, 2017, at McMaster University, Hamilton Ontario. They are currently accepting graduate and law student submissions relating to all areas within legal theory (e.g.: General and Normative Jurisprudence; The Nature of Law; Law and Morality; Judicial Review/ Judicial Activism/ Theories of the Judicial Role; Constitutionalism; Criminal Law and Punishment Theory; Feminist Approaches to Legal Theory/ Critical Legal Studies; The History of Legal Philosophy; Law and Authority; International Law…). Papers should be approximately 3000-4000 words in length. An abstract of 100-200 words should accompany all papers. All papers and abstracts must be electronically submitted by March 17, 2017.
Send papers and abstracts (in .doc, .docx, .pdf, or .rtf format) together with name, contact information, and home university to: olppgraduatestudentconference@gmail.com with the subject “OLPP Submission”. Each successful applicant will be given a one-hour presentation slot, of which 25-30 minutes will be dedicated to presenting the paper, and the other 30-35 minutes dedicated to participant questions and discussion.
