We invite authors to submit papers to a Special Issue on Argument Strength to be published in IfCoLog (Journal of Logics and Their Applications, College Publications).  In the special issue we intend to publish original high quality contributions on the basis of talks given at the workshop “Argument Strength 2016”, which took place at Ruhr-University Bochum, and we also welcome contributions from other authors. The aim of this special issue is to collect original and high quality contributions from the fields of artificial intelligence, philosophy, logic, and argumentation theory, which are related to the strength of arguments. :: Calls :: Phenomenology and Mind, Journal of the Faculty of Philosophy of San Raffaele University (Milan), invites submissions for a special issue dedicated to “New Trends in Philosophy”. The issue will gather the works from young philosophers all around the world in order to draw a picture of the directions in which philosophy is heading. The CfP is especially directed to master and PhD students, post-doctoral fellows, and young researchers. :: News :: The Australian Society of Legal Philosophy Essay Competition aims to encourage original research and writing in legal theory and philosophy of law by early career scholars around the world. The competition is open to students currently enrolled in a post-graduate degree program (Master or Doctoral) in any discipline. The author of the winning essay will receive a cash prize of AU$1,000, plus a contribution of up to AU$500 towards the cost of attendance at the Society’s Annual Conference  to present the essay as a paper. Essays must be in English and not exceed 15,000 words, send to jcrowe@bond.edu.au. The XXVIII World Congress  of the  International Society for the Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (IVR) will be held in Istanbul July 16 – 21, 2017. Submissions for individual papers to be presented at the Congress, in two special workshops addressing “The Concept of Law: Elements and Nature” and “Objectivity and Law” are welcomed.
